Ahh chris!! This is crazy! i can't believe you 're actualy doing this for real! It's starting to get chilly! HOpe you'll be back by Thanksgiving. How's it so far? Don't die or anything of the sort! Best of luck, AGAIN. and TEACH ME TO DRIVE THE PORSCHE, darnit!
After 3 days of watching him delay (aka: packing and tying up loose ends) his departure, we were finally able to teleport the alien, to a location on top of a hill in Northeast PA. Try to find Lehigh Furnace on the map! Go up the hill on dirt roads 2 miles north, and you will find a white blaze, near a microwave tower and power substation. That was the starting point for his journey. He was in good spirits and well feed. He made new friends (three backpackers lying around waiting for a ride) who offered him a place to hang out at their farm when he gets there, and they gave him some trail tips heading south. Cheers!/the old guy
PS: If you really want to find it on the map, find Allentown and go NE to the AT. Or Mapquest Lehigh Furnace and go N on Ashfield Road to the AT. (hint: the AT is on the county line) :o)
I hiked just short of 300 miles on the Appalachian trail in the fall of 2007. Using my cell phone, I updated this blog to keep my friends, family members, and everybody else notified of my continuing survival, signal permitting.
