Bears Den Rocks VA
I'm on my way to the Sam Moore Shelter, where I'll be spending the night. Today is the third day in a row that I'm hiking over 15 miles; I am pleased to say that I am finally getting into good shape and am not exhausted at the end of every day! Although, I still won't do lunges at the gym with Ereck! The "hills" you see in the background are exactly where I'm heading, known as the Blue Ridge Mountains. Next stop, Shenandoah National Park!

I thought hiking would nurture your peaceful side: what's with the lashing out!?!? I thought you were going to blog a detailed comparison between lunges and hiking? I bet you're gonna argue that hiking trumps lunges. Hogwash!

Hey Chris, I'm proud of you doing this. Wish I would have done this years ago. I heard about a guy that walked to trail and started out with a lot of weight, as he went along he dropped off things so that at the end, he only had 19 pounds that he carried. His mom really worried about him. One of the things that he did to lighten his load was to get rid of his stove. A hiker showed him how to make a stove out of the bottom of two soda cans, cut out the center of the one, cut notches for the burner part, put one inside the other and used fuel(gasoline) drier for the fuel. I have the one that he mace and on a camping trip our Pathfinder made some. It is very light, but have to be careful with the fuel.
Will keep you in our prayers and hope that it doesn't get too cold.
