It has been a very interesting past few days! On Thurs. night, I saw that my right shoe was starting to fall apart, so I got on the phone and had REI ship me a new pair in Duncannon, 70 miles down the trail from where I was, in Port Clinton. But first, I had to make it to the Pine Grove post office by noon on Sat., which was 28 miles away! To make it, I hiked 18 miles on Fri. and 10 miles on Sat. morning to get my food shippment just 15 minutes before the PO closed until Mon. morning! Unfortunately my shoes didn't last, so I was stuck in Pine Grove without trail-worthy shoes! Luckily, my parents were attending a wedding less than an hour away. They graciously picked me up and took me to my new pair of shoes in Duncannon, which is where I am going to pick back up again on the trail! It has been a very exciting past few days!

i vote you get somekind of Legolas boots and then boots will never get...um flat? hehe and when it snows (magically) you will be able to walk on top of the snow and won't be trapped in it! i'll look on ebay for you! hehe WHOOP WHOOP for LEGOLAS, he will save your feet! lol love ya!
X2 on some magic boots! I TOLD you that I was not sure they would hold up!! LOL NOT that this is a "I TOLD YOU SO" or anything! I am glad that Jack & Laura were able to help you out but We could have pulled second string! Emily and Abby were excited at the possibility of seeing their Uncle Chris!
Yikes! i just read your past posts and you've already had some adventures! As for those turkeys, HAHAHA. Glad you got your shoes and you're sounding like superman what with the hiking the 28 miles before your deadline at the PO. kudos. youre prob gonna slim down to nicole richie status after all this hiking. damn you. again, best of luck!
